PERSONAL SUMMARY
Dr. Margaret Chege holds a Bachelor of Education (Science) degree in Mathematics and Physics from Egerton University and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Physics from Kenyatta University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Environmental Physics from Kenyatta University in 2014. Her PhD research focused on mathematical modelling of radionuclide transport and transfer, radon and thoron in mud-walled dwellings, naturally occurring radionuclides in soil, building materials, crops and well water, and heavy metals in well water. Her PhD work was funded by the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation, NACOSTI (Grant No. NCST/5/003/4th CALL PhD/). Dr. Chege is currently a lecturer in the Department of Physics, Kenyatta University - Mombasa Campus, where she is involved in teaching, research and supervision of M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. Before joining the University, she worked under the TSC as a Physics lecturer at Kagumo Teachers Training College and prior to that as a high school teacher, teaching Mathematics and Physics in various high schools around the country. Dr. Chege has authored peer-reviewed articles and participated in national and international conferences and workshops.
