Kenyatta University is among the pioneer universities in Kenya offering academic programmes in Computing and Information Science. The Department of Computing and Information Science (CIS) where these programmes are domiciled, has diplomas, bachelors, masters and phd for both computing and information science domains. In computing, the aim is to train and mentor students to become computer professionals with skills for designing, developing and managing networks, programming, business systems analysis, developing enterprise information systems, applying AI and machine learning for developing ICT solutions. On the other hand, information science focus on principles and technologies for information organisation and retrieval, business records keeping and data management to support institutional strategic planning and decision making, and establishment of resource centres among others. Our academic programmes are reviewed within the standard cycle to ensure compliance with market demands and emerging technologies.
